I am an author-illustrator and visual storyteller focused on creating imaginative children’s stories that blend wonder, emotional warmth, and meaningful character journeys.
My creative work explores friendship, self-discovery, belonging, and the beauty of imperfection through picture book writing, illustration, and visual narrative. I am especially interested in the relationship between text and image—how rhythm, page-turn pacing, character emotion, composition, and illustration work together to create memorable reading experiences for children and families.
My current projects include The Garden of Wonder, a rhyming picture book and dummy book about friendship, self-acceptance, and imperfect growth through a magical garden adventure, and Amelia the Christmas Helper, a children’s holiday story about an eager puppy whose apparent mistakes become unexpected strengths.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ringling School of Art & Design and have continued to develop my creative practice through children’s book illustration, digital art, manuscript development, dummy book construction, and active engagement with the children’s publishing community. I am also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and participate in writing and illustration conferences, workshops, and regional events.
My background as a home educator has deepened my connection to children’s learning, literature, creativity, and visual engagement. Teaching across English, literature, history, science, mathematics, and art has shaped the way I think about stories, readers, and the role books play in helping children understand themselves and the world around them.
I am currently developing a professional body of picture book work with a focus on children’s literature, visual storytelling, inclusive representation, and emotionally resonant stories for young readers.
