Having lived in some amazing places such as Sardinia Italy, Honolulu Hawaii, and San Juan Puerto Rico as a child.

I experienced some amazing environments, cultures and people.  I love nature whether it is a forest, mountain or the ocean and all the amazing wildlife, flora and seasons that fill them.  That is something that has always influenced my art.  Whether it is the smallest flower or a colorful fish, or a wise old owl, I have always felt more at home in nature.

Before I discovered digital art, I worked in traditional pen and ink with colored pencil.  Pen and ink with colored pencil is what I have always identified with and felt the most comfortable with because I am able to express the energy and emotions, I feel using lines and color.  So, when I moved to digital, the first thing I had to figure out is how to take that traditional style and technique and express it digitally.  It is still a learning process, and I am enjoying every moment of it.  I love listening to music as I draw singing along with it badly (LOL!) and dancing in my chair which you can see in the movement in my drawings and the energy I feel from the subject and the music I am listening to.

Having graduated from Ringling Collage of Art and Design with a Bachelors in Illustration and a focus in children's book illustration, I didn't go straight into my art career.  I had an opportunity to get into drafting and architecture and ran my own successful drafting business for five years.  When I found out I was going to be a mother, I wanted to pour my whole self into that joy!  Now I find that as my children are growing, I have more time and am rediscovering my art.  My future career goal is to become a published children's book illustrator and possibly even author.  Having joined The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and following sites like Reedsy and Publisher's Weekly I am re-educating myself into a world I left so long ago.

I am loving this new adventure and I am learning so much about myself and my artist's voice.
